I have been raving about my new Magic Ride Pro, but now have a concern. When I push down on the deck, between the front and rear foot straps, I hear a squeaking sound, like it could be coming from the foam core. The deck flexes a little when I push my palm into it but not to much. The board is brand new and has been used 10 times. What do you guys think about this? Manufacturer defect? Delamination? I take the vent screw out after every session, and the board is stored in my house when not being used.

Yep, its not supposed to be like that. Sounds like its a crook one. Take it back for a replacement.

My thoughts exactly, I may end up replacing it with the Naish Starship. This board seems to have good reviews. Maybe it will be more durable. Any thoughts about the starship?

If you love it so much (just a vibe we were all getting ) why replace it with a different model and go thru all that gettin' used to it again

Don't do it... you'll have to create a new account name and post another 20 threads all about the same board.

Yeah, I have decided to trade the Magic in for the 2016 Naish Starship 115 liter board. It is more wave and bump n jump oriented for me. Plus my last board was a 2003 Naish Titan 110. I loved that board. Too bad they don't make the Titan in that range anymore. I am going to post another 20 threads on the Starship now!!! Lol... Just kidding!! Haha

Good luck trading in the board you just announced to the world as having delaminated
Why not warranty claim?
Wish you were in WA I'd buy it

Once you have a structural issue with a new board, it kind of makes you want to go to a different manufacturer to be quite honest in my opinion. I have owned Naish products before and never had any problems. I have never owned Jp equipment before until the Magic Ride. Unfortunately with the deck delaminating on a brand new JP board makes me want to go with a different manufacturer for boards. Knock on wood, Naish has never done me wrong, so I will continue with them until proven otherwise. Funny thing is I was originally going to go with the Naish Starship, but they were out of stock and a month out until new arrival. The Magic Ride was available at a great price and bought it. I enjoyed magic until this issue. The Starship will be my next magical ride.

^^ The point is they are all made in the same place (mostly) so you can get that issue with any board.

I cannot believe anyone would buy a $2000 board, love the hell out of it then when it has a major issue (delam) you will trade it in on another new board of another brand, and ignore warranty.
I dunno if you are trolling or brand pimping / bashing, I dunno..... but it reads really strange. If a Magic Ride is that great, why ditch it at great loss to you?

Sometimes they just go wrong. Sometimes heaps of boards in one model year go wrong.... I could list a few where they had heaps of fails...... but if you don't claim, they don't know and you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't claim warranty. And really, how much trade-in will you get on a stuffed up new board? (That's why I said I wish u were in Oz, I'd buy it from you as you obviously have too much money)

Well don,t think about it too hard now old timer!! The finger inserted through the nose into the eye is likely to result in some odd communication with fellow members and brain damage. You might want to fix that, it's a lil creepy. Let's stick with positive communication that is appropriate for this site. I have already explained the issue with my board, if you still can't understand that, I don't know what to tell ya. The dealer is handling the warenty and I am getting a new board. Call it peace of mind if you will and great customer service on the dealer's behalf for swapping out the Magic Ride for the Starship.

MagicRide - not once did you mention warranty. You said you were going to "trade it in". We can only go on what you said.

If you are going to do warranty and the dealer will supply you a different board of your choosing, go for it. But that is not what you said.

Funny thing is I've heard that naish boards have crummy construction. Which probably means nothing. All these boards are made in the same factory. No brand is consistently more robust than another. Your board is probably from a bad batch. If you liked the magic ride, the logical thing would be to get another free move board like an Atomiq or a a rocket wide - almost all brands have a free move now.

At the risk of having to don the fire proof jacket, I've found through having a number of different brands that the tabou's have a sturdier construction than some of the other brands and can take a bit more punishment. Just an observation, but the old rocket was hard to bruise.

It was from a bad batch. Oh well, my bad luck I guess. I am just crossing my fingers that the Starship is from a good batch. This time I will wait a few months to post about the Starship and see how it really holds up. I know Naish boards very well and love the way they cut through the water, planing or slogging, they just feel good to me. I am more of a fan of narrow boards than wide. So the Magic Ride was a change in size going wide. The board was a lot of fun, but they say everything happens for a reason, so maybe the starship is more up my alley. We will just have to see.

It sounds like you have received some great customer service there and finally got the board you were looking for, musical qualities in any board are not to be tolerated unless the board is appropriately named, ie Bic jazz , Bic reggae

Techno, Hard rock - and what happened to the tradition of giving boards great names? The Naish Starship is the most notable one to appear in decades.

Boards ,boards,,boards.
I think that the boards comming out of the factory lately have a bit to be desired.
I have had boards that last up to four years ,and boards that last six months. Or six times on the water.
You may get told, "did you read the warranty,"...........................................................................................................................
Sounds like a bit of resin injected in to your brand new magic board could be all your WARRANTY CLAIM, warrants.
Nothing to do with the fact that you only rode it six times, cost you $2500 ,AND THEN IT STARTED TO FALL APPART.
TO BAD SO SAD. ACCORDING TO MOST MANAFACTURES.
I know that it is not the fault of the retailer, or the wholesalers, The production line is where it is at,but there are strict quality controls that stop this sort of error or bad craftsmanship, from happening.???????

This is my observation , and reality.

Big clumsy stampers always cave in decks on pro edition boards......fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee dude!
