Busted a mast and cracked a cam this morning. Just wondering if anyone thinks I could fit this grey Severne cam or would it be a waste of time trying?

No hope, the internal luff panel will be designed for the longer cam and the batten tongues will be nowhere near long enough. You will need to get a replacement North cam.

Retrofit, I realise I have to gain length with the grey one to suit , they don't make spacers quite that big but I think a spacer/ cam extender could be made. The other option I have thought of is to cut the cracked front of and cut 20 ish mm of the back of the grey one and epoxy together.

From the think tank, make 2 pieces like cardboard template in pic, epoxy and rivet together around baton.

What to make them from?

OK, well wow, the sail does have very long batten tongues. Could work. You need to make sure you have enough tongue engagement inside the cam otherwise it will over rotate.
Still seems way easier to me though to just get a new cam!!!

I used an Ezzy cam and a heated and squashed bit of pvc pipe as a spacer. Works well !
