Hi,
There has been a post under the same name, and sorry - it got removed.
The reason is that it was about a lot of inter-committee stuff, and past experience has shown that discussion of this content/the politics of committee's trying to work it things out in the forums usually gets ugly, and nobody wins.
To get updates on the event, visit the www.windwanderers.org.au/ website.
Thanks Justin for your time and effort over the years.
Hey windwanders can you please explain comment below as is rather ambiguous to what the event will provide and has a significant impact in deciding whether to attend the event or not.
"The intent is for the format of the event, style, vibe and atmosphere to remain unchanged. Items incorporated in the expenses have been reviewed for the event in the interests of all WindWanderers."
Cheers,
Chris
Bloody committees
But hey if you're booked in or even planing to go do so, this is the best windsurfing event I have ever been to and I have been to a few. If the wind's up the sailing is very good but the chance to meet so many sailors from around Aus, talk some B/S and have a few laughs is awesome. I have made some very good friends here Also it might die a slow death from here

We all just pretend to be friends with you Bob
Disappointing turn of events (and unfortunately somewhat played out in public) but no doubt the committee will bring the same level of enthusiasm and possible some fresh ideas to the comp.
My 2 cents - I think that the barge is pretty handy for the competitors re: extra gear etc. and would be a shame to lose it due to budget constraints (but not a show stopper though)
I missed most the excitement last couple of days, have been out sailing of all things.
Yeah do agree top event and great group of peeps, even if firiebob comes along ;)-
Having attended the last 3 comps I am just trying to determine what the go is this year as there have been plenty of rumors kicking about and nothing solid as yet. Either way awesome place to sail.
LIMONCELLO is brewing.
Brewing???? Didn't think you need to brew rocket fuel and lemon juice. Just thought you mixed the two and watched the effect take hold on unsuspecting visitors.
BTW - Is it sanctioned with the committee
Obviously there has been a few big and significant changes over the last few days with regard to this event. I think Laurie has done the right thing by pulling the previous posts as these public forums are definitely not the place to work out internal issues.
We all need to remember that there are real people on the end of any comments you post and these people spend a lot of time and energy VOLUNTEERING to run clubs and events so we can all better enjoy the sport we all love. If we treat them badly they will disappear and we will all be worse for it.
It is obviously disappointing to see Justin leave as he has done a magnificent job in the past and has built the event up to being one of the premier events on our windsurfing calendars. However I have spoken to the president of WindWanderers and he has the support of a number of key personnel and resources and once a number of key administrative issues have been addressed, is aiming to make sure the event goes ahead as planned.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
Scot Farley (President Windsurfing Queensland)

If I make it to Burrum I may round up enough courage to try some - I believe (From reliable informants and past participants) it adds 4 knots to your PB the next day?
So I have no previous experience at the event - been sailing many years but only got myself a GPS just before xmas. Sailed at Burrum on 28th Dec in a big blow and it was bloody fantastic. Had not sailed there before. Made the decision that day that I would be back for Windfest. As a newbie to the event I am very much looking forward to it. Looking forward to meeting heaps of people. Looking forward to having a chat over a cold beer. Just hope the wind will be coming along!!!!
I have registered on Windwanderers site and can log in but can not get into Wind Fest registration page. The following message comes up
" You are using an unverified account. Please verify your account by clicking on the link contained in the verification email we've already sent to you." I have done this and can log in ,but can not get into Wind Fest registration page.
Is anyone else having this problem?
