Anyone ever converted a us cup downhaul winch to euro pin? Or know of a conversation piece available?
or do I just need to fork out for a new one..... I can live without it but it makes life very easy for my wife
Never seen a DH winch so trying to visualise but could just drill a hole (as long as centred) and stick a bit of threaded rod in with two nuts/washers?
Else, an old extension cut down, a plate welded on top and old europin screwed in centre? Then u can use it for both

But your wife IS a downhaul wench isn't she? What do you need another one for?
winch broke plastic inside extension(euro pin) because rope is not in line with center line off extension.too much side force
THis one work for both... have used it many times in Europin. Never see one break - ever.
winch broke plastic inside extension(euro pin) because rope is not in line with center line off extension.too much side force, plus rope which goes in clit, during tension demages itslef
with hands you can move rope out of clit

Still laughing Shifu, funny bugga, classic 3 letter response to a misspelt word in a post.
I needed a temporary Cup style addition for my Euro pin Chinook winch. I lathed it out of hardwood (routed the slots) and gently twisted into the other end of my winch, worked perfectly. The right bit of stainless rod set into some resin (or wood) might do the job. For $50 the labour time alone makes me think you might be better off just buying a new one???
which one out of the clit and cleet have teeth ,
surf and sail have a good chinook winch for around $100.
Well that's just typical of dodgy Euro p ins - breaking wenches using too much rope side force and plastic extensions inside!

Hahha that's almost as funny as relieving the tension on the clit below....
sounds like your wife is into some kinky stuff. Always wondered why they get piercings down there...

Used one of these for years, it did eventually cause the base of extension to crack around the pin hole. Caused due to sideways force. I Always try to hold winch as square as possible and keep the hole in the winch close to winch body to keep rope pulling straight down - not off to side.
i haven't done this myself, but if you added a threaded rod into end of a eurocup winch as suggested above, I'd make it much longer (maybe 12") so it goes right up the extension and maybe it would limit to sideways movement of the winch and reduce wear around the euro pin plastic base. Just a thought.
You guys are full of such useful information!! But seriously, sounds like I'd be better off ditching the winch for euro pin. I don't want to damage my shiny new severne extensions. I'll figure something else out
Don't often find rope jammed in there but something there's ansmall piece of string
blood oath
Or know of a conversation piece available?
We certainly got one of those out of this thread ??

I had severne sdm 36 cm extension, hole for pin inside extension crack after use winch a few time
I didnt know that clit is clitoris
These are an excellent winch for European bases. They put less side strain on the base than the Chinook Europin one. Although I have used, and had good experiences with both types, I find the Unifiber one easier and nicer to use.
Truth be told, I usually just use the black centre part of the Unifiber one as a downhaul handle with the cleat. Using Formula rope, it is so easy to downhaul my current sails I just don't need the extra power of the winch. Take the stainless handle out and thread the rope through the centre hole and then into the cleat. Then just pull.

You guys got it all wong, ya wope is supposed to get jammed in the Clam Cleat, if there's string in it, either ya wope is worn out or as old crusty sailors say you may be in for nasty weather.

How is that? The alignment looks identical? .... Nice feature to double as regular pull handle though...
