This is my attempt at planing with the least wind possible , ( without a foil ).
150mm extension out the back with 6mm polycarb on a horrible formula board.
May have to move the straps back.
That's two 28 cm fins as well as a 70 cm whopper , ( or my winged fin ), should produce enough lift to carry a small car .
With my NP V8 9.4 I should be planing in 2-3 kts " epic "

Grab handle on the back or does it allow for a flexible flipper tail (aka WT)

^^^
I thought of leaving it off but it was too flexy , ( or maybe not ). Its to support the extension which I can adjust the angle a bit. Its still a little flexy on the edges.

^^^
Best sail I have ever used , super grunty and very twisty off the top.
Better than the H2 which felt a little catapoolty.
I accidentally bought a 8.2 and 7.2 ,shhhhh she may not know , there all the same colour

We're worth it BSN101 , so the kids go a little hungry.

Extra drag from both the extension and side fins. Let us know how it goes, pessimistic at this stage.

Imax1, do you get time to work? Great looking veneer.

I could loose the side fins ( they were from an earlier project transforming the board into a learner and dog friendly board using three short fins , I then covered the whole board in eva foam ). It is actually a really good learner board ,goes upwind well.
I found that a formula board ( apart from being 1m wide ) is very short and has a short flat rear rocker line. It was hard to get unstuck from the water with my 115kg weight , then when it did it was horrible and dangerous. My old 79 wide excite ride is way better.
So my thinking was to lengthen the rear flat rocker.
Probably have to move mast and straps back.
I love to tinker

Done some testing today , light wind , 5kts slowly increasing to 20kts.
Sub planning , big improvement , much slipperier. Very happy.
Gets up planing a lot earlier , but this is where the fun stops.
If it handled like a barn door before it is worse now. The straps need to go way back but I wont bother because its horrible. Trying to have some fun and surf it down some wind swell was not happening , at all ! The only way of doing this is out of the straps and moving around a lot, the way you would to ride a barn door.
So off came the straps and with a 40cm centre fin its just going to be a light wind play thing.
It does go upwind very well and you could hold a party on its deck , if you fell over you would still land on the board.
