That's like driving a go kart through shopping trollies.
I'm dabbling in the concept , and it's like cheating.

Awesome, smashing past all the old school crew, looks like fun, foils have made windsurfing waaay more efficient and exciting compared to the people mowing the lawn that you usually see, thanks for posting.

Maybe you didn't notice over half the "old school crew" are still teenagers. I've never even seen that many teenage kiters in one spot before.

^^^^Wasn't talking about their age, just what they were floating around on, while the new school advanced future rider blasted past them.

You can't just decide to race a foil without learning some skills beforehand, they may well decide race foils down the track, if foils get selected for the Olympics then that will increase the amount of foils racing massively. We will find out later this year, in the meantime the old school gear still makes for good racing.

I do get your point though, the foil is super fast around the course.

BTW the advanced "new school foil" rider just won the "old School" Raceboard Nationals a few weeks ago.

Nice work. How do you like the NP rs: flight f4. I've heard its quick and you Looked super quick out there!

Nice crash btw, makes us feel a little better about our foiling.

200mm you mean

If you're racing get the starboard race, it's the benchmark...actually it's the benchmark for everything as it's so modular you can buy wings and fuselages to do anything.

The f4 can be made competitive but it needs a fuselage extension, mine is extended 300mm and I still don't think it's quite as good upwind as the front wing isn't as far forward relative to the box as the SB race. I think it is a touch faster off the wind though.

It may not. The Olympic Nacra 17 foiling cat has very small fleets; only 400 ever built and just 44 last year. The active fleets are tiny - nine boats in Oz and Italy, 13 boats in France which has a huge cat scene.

If you weren't such an arrogant d*ckhead, your tiny brain may be able to comprehend that just because you have a one-track mind doesn't mean that other people do as well. Plenty of people who are obviously much smarter than you like many other ways of having fun afloat. Maybe you should get over your self-worshipping arrogance and respect other people enough to let them sail what suits them, without childish bitching from a moron like you.

You have no right to decide that you are judge and jury about what other people should sail. Get over yourself.

Sure, but in that case he should be able to take what he gives out. He's spent years here abusing other people so unless he's a hypocrite he should just deal with it when someone snaps back.

I get the feeling he's actually the sort of person who bullies people but tries to pretend it's all in fun when they call him on it. Basically all he says is "unless you sail what I sail, your gear is crap". That's not exactly original or funny, so why does he keep on rolling out the same tired old schtick unless he actually believes it?

PS - it's not just me who is sick of him either - plenty of other people have told him he's a boring d*ck.

This video shows why the windsurfer OD is making a comeback.

So you need 3 sails, 3 masts, 3 booms and now you will need 3 foils, light medium and heavy to be competitive. Probably doesn't leave any money in the bank for a post race beer!

Much as I love the LT, I can see how much fun that foiler would be. Hell, I did the multi-rig multi-board thing myself for years and still do.

Sure, the sport may be more popular when we emphasise the simplicity of it, but can't we also support the high-tech high-speed end of it as well?

no ; Julien came to the Nationals with 1 mast, boom and sail and won.
the windsurfer is making a comeback because they changed the board.

Banging corners after a while gets pretty boring, do those things stay on foils when tacking
