Not sure about others but I get a bit nervous when some of these guys buzz around Botany Bay so close to the (very responsible) windsurfing fraternity.

Jetski factory destroyed by fire
June 3, 2008 - 6:35AM

Fire has destroyed a jetski factory in Sydney after more than 35 firefighters fought to contain the blaze from destroying adjacent premises.

Six fire crews were called to the scene in Heathcote Road at Moorebank, in Sydney's south-west just before 4am today.

The jetski and watercraft manufacturing plant measuring 10m by 20m was well alight when emergency crews arrived, a NSW Fire Brigades spokesman said.

Firefighters battled the inferno for nearly an hour before bringing it under control and saving the the other three premises in the complex.

No one was injured and on one was evacuated during the incident.

Forensic investigators have arrived to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Traffic delays continue as crews remain at the scene.

I don't mind jetski's its just the "hey look at me" tools that ride them. Especially the ones that ride around in the surf near swimmers, surfers.

Hahaha, what a classic!!

I think it was the work of GOD, like in the Sodom and Gemorrah story...smite those sinners from the face of the earth, dude!

BTW my deepest sympathies go out to those affected...

Agreed.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

10m by 20m doesn't seem very big for a factory making jetskis.

I have never seen an Australian made jetski. All the ones I have seen are either Japanese or North American.

Its not good for an Australian factory to be burnt out. Some people may lose their jobs because of it.

More than likely it was a wholesaler or distributor not a manufacturer

These guys give me the willies... also, all those tattoos. In fact, usually spelling mistakes in the said tattoos...

Here somewhere inland North America where I live, they're a problem. Low skills-to-brain ratio. I don't remember them being a problem at Botany Bay at the time, but I can see your elation.
