It's not every day as an average Australian windsurfer you get to be out on the (24+ degree) water for a great freeride session while watching Antoine Albeau and some other guys & gals warm up for the next PWA World Cup event!

For anyone who has a spare few days and dollars next week - the Noumea Dream Cup/World Cup event is on next week in New Caledonia- starting 18/11/2014 and there are some other amateur races on before (I think starting 15/11/14). Under 3 hours from Sydney and Brisbane so pretty much at our doorstep (for those on the east coast).

The official link is: bureauvalleedreamcup.nc/

The only thing is that the beach will be closed for normal windsurfing and they tell me the hire places will close down during the World Cup. So, it would be more watching than participating while the event is on. But the local sailors are super friendly and there is great French food and wine to be had. Not to mention the beautiful pacific island climate which will ensure that your stinky French cheese is truly stinky!

Bit last minute but I didn't know the event was on until I arrived here for a work trip and thought it worth giving people a heads up just in case anyone has the time and dosh to go.

Come on Col, you know you want it !!!

(and there'll be plenty of pro gear up for sale at the end of the event... )

SalB, drop in to say hi, I've got a white H1 (old model) with a black bonnet, parked between both rentals nearly everyday.
And during the event I'll be working on site (media/pwa relations)

Fitness and level are not up to PWA standards ...

Today the race started with the Pro/am grand prix

A² smashed everyone winning the long distance (20 k) with 150 m ahead of Mortefon.
He also won both raids.

It's amazing to watch those guys race against the locals. Our top ten are really fast but they get their a.. kicked by the pros !!

Funny to watch Bjorn wander around while Victor does all the work :-)
Got a pic of the big bloke with my son, little guy was stoked to compete in the same race as all the big names !
