Alastair McLeod's crazy ride off tassie made the Redbull 2015 highlights - again well done mate

1min 40sec

What was your highlight for 2015? Mine was racing Dolphins as they swam under me the other week, no where near as extreme but still a very very special highlight!

Sailing new places with mates and drinking cold beers after takes the cake for me!

Personally
Xmas eve.
Sailed Avalon and got 4 turns in on one wave for the first time.
Then went over the hill and speed sailed to get my 2 sec pb at almost 35knts.
Great day.
Generally
Jaeger Stone's and Steve Allen's efforts in wave and slalom PWA respectively.

Watching my 9yo get planing for the first time as I followed along behind him on the river - awesome!

Racing Isaac across the river in 25-35 knots on a 5.5m--one mistake away from going over the front.

Trying out Aus 1111 2016 Manta 106 and new 7.7m Warp--a distant second.

Getting enough wind to sail 13 days in a row from early December.

Nothing new for me on the windsurfing front unfortunately (as there were no real highlights for me last year & my TOW dropped considerably), but made the transition from just 'snorkelling' to 'freediving' on those windless days...not so much extreme, but I've found a new passion for exploring the ocean terrain - it's an amazing place!

Cheating a little as my highlight was last week . I went from having a dismal first go on my isonic 50 speedboard - I decided it was too much for me and I'd sell it and get a bigger board - to having a ball!!
1 Got 7/9 of the gybes I tried + in results in my top 2-5 in 4 /5 GPS sections for the session..
It's now my favourite board. I think sailing fitness and stronger wind were the difference - 1st go was after winter where I hadn't gybed any small boards for months and not fit.
I can't wait to have another go but it looks like the doldrums have set in..

Highlight was having my first sail for 2015 in October, thinking "yep, this feels good, really really good", then having 10 days in Maui just to make sure.

This is after starting New Years Day in emergency, my shoulder having dislocated in my sleep, then having an op in March to fix a 25 year old problem. For those who are old enough, I think I know how Steve Austin would have felt, post-implants.

Sailed 40 knots. (in not at).

Actually I had a ****e year as I hardly got out at all. I guess that made up for it.
