Snapped my boom last Monday and it is now a home made Go Pro mount.
Has any one got tips about making a boom to a mount. I have left the arm too long and makes gybes hard - but the angle and footage is good.
The arm tended to drop due to the weight of the camera being towards the end of the boom (Cut off).
Will post the video but got no idea how the hell to download onto here

here is my homemade backpack selfie mount
on my homemade ice sled
Won't post my Vid on you tube or similar, its bat shyte boring anyway.
Thanks for the share of the videos but will shorten the boom arm and try from there. Not big on having it stick out from the end of the boom. Can see the camera having a short life on it.
I made one a while ago, 1 meter long!!!! Great straight line shots, but impossible to gybe/tack.
cut it down to around 50cm, still takes decent shots, and tacking us do-able. Had to use a mauisails boom head to stop it slipping as the original fiberspar one was crap.
sounds like a waste of an MS boom attachment
if it sits on top of actual boom - would that not be "good enuff" ??

Exactly what I have done Mark. Will shorten it down to 30 cm I think and try from there with gopro extensions etc.
Cheers

the main problem was not sliping down, but left to right. For me, I had three MS boom heads knocking around the garage, I took them off my old Fiberspar's before selling them. :)
