I don't understand why kiteboarders seem to want to boost in the shallows of the waters edge. Is it a "look at me thing" or are they totally mad
I only wanted to boost in deep water for obvious reasons.

Done that. It was quite scary. If you're stuck underneath at a funny angle it's actually really hard to lift the sail up, your can't swim under it, and you're stuck in 1ft of water.
Haven't done it since a beginner though.
