Finished 90hrs of redoing this mural so time to sail! Feeling fit and I've been looking forward to a decent sail as a reward but all the rotten fronts are blocked by a high! grr
I painted this mural back in 2005 and it was looking pretty tired and faded so it's just had a facelift ( repaint). It was the first mural I had ever attempted back then and I was disabled so I could only paint a few hours a day and all left handed ( I'm right handed). The guys face and the grass was the only bit right handed ( and I ended up stuck in bed for 3 days with a headache after it). I won the Hunter Business Awards that year and I think it was because I managed to do the mural while disabled.
10 years older now but healthy so the repaint was much easier!
Above - Before the repaint.
After 3.3m x 9m
It's on the side of the BWS liquor Barn at Kurri - Hunter Valley NSW
Unfinished but it shows you the size

That looks great Sue, I am heading out to Cessnock tomorrow, I will go through Kurri and have a look.
much better after the touch up. I can't believe you could paint it with your non dominant hand.
Great work!
Looks fantastic Sue... what a great achievement (left or right handed)!!
You might be rewarded on Saturday with a little bit of Westerly, but the early bird catches the worm
Cheers

Thanks! If you can score a sunny afternoon it looks best from about 1.30pm - the sun really brings the colours out!

Yep..At the moment there's a bushwalk I feel I should do - mainly to test my feet out and see if they survive ( I really want to go skiing again!) - Watching things though and wondering about early next week? Maybe even Primbee next blow..
It's now looking like it could be worth keeping an eye on Sunday/Monday Sue. But it's a little early to be making a call on what will happen.
That's amazing Sue. I can't believe the level of detail - especially in the man and his clothes. I don't know anything about art but you can really see the depth/distance with the trees in the background behind the man. Impressive stuff. I'll have to go have a look in person on the next road trip up that way.
By the way, a strong Westerly is blowing here in Canberra right now so also most probaby at the coast (i.e. Primbee, even though it is North of Canberra a bit). Supposed to be windy all weekend around the region at least I think. Pity it is the middle of Winter and so cold here. I am waiting for the warmer months to appear again :-(
