230 x 66 - fat.
Hoping that forecast this weekend comes to fruition, the deck grip is almost dry now.....
So it is really hard to find a bag that wide for a twin. Anyone got a cheap 240 x 70 bag they want to sell? (I'll get slots inserted in it for twin fins). Just that I am loathe to spend a lot on a new bag only to have to spend more having it modified.
Pup, the flame is just an unpainted bit to show carbon underneath
Windxtasy, yes it is nice that one does not need to be able to paint nowadays..... I do believe you can even pay more for it
Mark, I'm kinda disappointed that there isn't a finger poking through one of the fin boxes.
I guess there's always room for improvement.
Looks great. What's the scoop on the board and intended use? Approx volume, how much do you weigh and what conditions did you build it for?
Phil- about 90-95L
big concave into double concaves and with that width it is designed to be an early planer but loose as loose gets :)
really designed as a lightwind board for somebody 10kg lighter than me, I am 97kg so really this will be for solid 5.3 conditions for me. So no Adam I don't think quite 10kn, but for a beachy I'd take it out non-planing perhaps.
Anyway credit for the shape goes to Mike at Riders Custom he has all the brains in it, I just made it.

Can I have a go then?
looks good mark but maybe you could have sexed up the nose outline a little.
is this the blank that mike widened then lost all the weight?
We must share a beer together one day mark as I have a few interesting ideas for a few boards 130 ish mark and light
What is the construction, how was the weight and cost?
Hard to say cost as I got a free shaped blank :)
Conventional styro - divinycell foam sandwich, carbon and glass.
Boxes, glass and carbon, resin etc about $500
Weight - heavy glass job so a bit too heavy :( but it won't break!
Bertie, bits of both
Ado, sorry I missed you, I went to Main Break. Bit gusty and dropping when I took the new board out, but did find it very loose (bit too much perhaps). But that was as a twin and
the waves were bit choppy. Wait for a better day and sail it as a quad I think.
But stability - wow! I have never schlogged on a 90L ish with such ease! At 66 wide a guy about 85kg could use this in light winds and small waves and have a blast I reckon
Hi Mark
Got your email, glad you enjoyed the board have sent you a reply.
Bertie It's 5mm Div top and bottom and 6mm corecell in centre sanded down to 5mm, yes it was that board I cut up and widened.

How do you keep the halves aligned. Or is it a secret process?
