Hi Crew, so ive been back sailboarding 18months now. Still TOTALLY OBSESSED. I get to sail 3times a week on average. So the last 2 weeks of no wind here at GB has driven me nuts. Gotta do something sailboardin orientated. Its a MUST. What to do????? Didnt like the look of one of my boards. Plain blue.... So i masked the board up n sprayed with Rustoleum Key Lime then clear.Ripped the tape off n WHAMMO!!! A whole new look!!! My sailboarding itch soothed for another day...
AAAAHHHHH!!
Im sure itll hammer now!!
WHAT DO 'YOU' DO WHEN THERES NO WIND
nice job !
my first lightwind board !! circa 2000
Then handed it to the kids to learn on, added a rubber pad on it for them
Imax1, yeah dude. Portside n a great big white canvas on the underside to cover. Hoping for wind coz i dont have a design.
Seanhogan, nice work! Yep its an old board. Hard to find info on. But rides great as a stepdown from reaching on a longboard.
During our no wind spells, I've been cutting off the useless noses of old boards. Now, they fit in the van, don't puncture the foot of the sail and, otherwise, don't seem to have any ill effects.
Hey Crew, still no wind. 2weeks since i last sailed. Forgive me MAUI for i have sinned......
So this weeks tweak
Daughters surfboard with rubbish artwork.
So i rubbed it back n removed artwork. We masked it up. Sprayed on some of her favourite colour.
WHAMMMO!!! A whole new lookin ride.
(artwork n creations by DARKART) When will the wind return? What will come of my board collection? Planning an article on 10ft tinny tweaks. Tune in next week for the gripping 2nd episode - WINDSURFER STRANDED IN THE DOLDRUMS... Ep 3. How to interact with landlubbers.
BRING ON THE WIND!!!!
Good choice mate. Windsurfing gear lets you ride anytime and is way less expensive in the long run. :P
No wind - experimenting making slot boxes for my forthcoming board build.....
Dunno if I can be bothered making 4 or 5 lol. But at least the inserts won't be able to rip out of these ones........
Big guys should be working on fitness and diet in the off season. Drop 10kg, build more endurance and then tell me how awesome you feel on your first blast in September.
The rest of us can do diy.
Shifu,i lost 12kg just from sailboarding a few times a week for the last year. Cruisin at a lightweight 103kg now. My boardshorts all need suspenders . Haha. But yes match fitness suffers very quickly , if you dont get any TOW. Still amazes me how quickly forearms can pump solid if theyre not exercised frequently. Even a week off is noticable. Last year i didnt have an off season. Managed 83 days sailin from easter to sept. Me thinks not so this year.
^^^ its so so easy. Fun as well. Rustoleum 2X paint. Dishwashing detergent. Google it. Nothing is safe from a spray can at home atm.
