People have been saying there is a lot of raw sewage in those waters. After getting the labs back from testing the water, it doesn't look good they say. High levels of toxins and contaminates in the water.

Good reason to keep those gybes nice and smooth!
I think if you fell in you would have a problem, but most would continue undeterred.

Just like hitting the water anywhere off Sydney form the media reports on channel 7 - does hitting a blind mullet slow ya down much on a race board or do you have turd splitting fins?
In regards to the sailing I've seen that Channel 7 will have the highlights as follows;
Aug 16 2am Lasers
Aug 17 3am Nacras
Aug 18 2am 470s
Aug 19 2am 49ers
Can't see and windsurfing on Channel 7 but I'm looking forward to trying this link: www.sailing.org/olympics/rio2016/home.php
or www.rsxclass.com/how-to-follow-the-rio-2016-olympic-racing/
FFS it's 2016 and I'd like to watch an event in THE OLYMPICS!
Surely with television both live and replayed, Channel 7's website, YouTube, FeceBook, Twitter, SnapChat, PornHub and **** knows what else we can watch it somewhere? Surely to god? No? Really?
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Australian Olympic team is a state-sponsored effort, yeah? As in my taxes paid for it? Can I at least appreciate it beyond a medal tally?
/rant.
TOO TRUE! Bring back Foxtel covering the Olympics, they virtually had a whole channel dedicated to sailing.
The Brit Nick Dempsey seems to be leading the mens at the moment and a French woman Charline Picon leads the ladies.
Does the FRA on the sail stand for Fast Racing Australian? Maybe the one at the back is ours...its sail is USA which must stand for US Aussies

Says the Seppo

Charline fell off in the raw sewage and toxic waste and hasn't been able to get the stain out ever since.

Yeah da BRA is the hawaiian one .aye bra .
Good photo....this windsurfing sport looks like fun! No hydrofoils required...
cause it's windy, then it looks like fun, nothing more boring than watching them struggle in ultralight wind.
Convertible will boost the windsurf at the olympics

Agree
The Olympic gear looks epic! Love the bold colours. Haven't seen any broadcast of the RS:X on 7 which is super disappointing.
Best way to follow is the RSX twitter feed which will update mark roundings and results (twitter.com/rsxclass)
or the live tracking www.sailing.org/olympics/rio2016/multimedia/live_tracking.php
Just be sure to use a compatible browser for the tracking to load - firefox is working for me. And you can go back and watch all races for all sailing classes.
Been trying to watch some of the sailing all week but after it plays the ads I get a "sorry our provider in Rio is having difficulties try again later'. Just as bad as the abs and census except I can't order a paper copy of the Olympics.
It did work for some of the equestrian on Monday I think. Anyone managed to use it to watch any sailing?

Aren't they planning to use a narrower, shorter board with a smaller sail that will probably stop dead if it's light?
The other thing is that for years, the Olympic ratings breakdown has been released, sport by sport. The simple, undeniable, indisputable fact is that faster and more radical sports don't rate better, so there's no evidence at all that foils will boost windsurfing.

Plan to have a try watching on app or online early tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Channel 7 telecast times below are adjusted to WA time (+1.5hrs for SA, +2hrs for east coast):
