Hello,
Does anyone have experience or info on retrofitting a Severne RDM boom clamp on an older Chinook carbon boom? I believe the the
Enigma is on the skinny side so Im wondering if its suitable
Thanks for reading
Need measures of your boom
not just dia, also the width at the front, chinook tends to have a hump either side of the fitting
in saying that my first thought is if u say older... prob not as it will be way too fat is my guess
Funny thing is I finally did the swap on my 160 Chinook carbon I'm using on my 6.8 Moto just 2 days ago.
I have two wave and one 170 Enigma booms but the Chinook feels fine on the Moto with the short boom length. thought I'd have to wrap it with carbon for a fit but diameter was perfect, 15 minutes and done!
Enigma is skinny but not at the front
Cheers and good sailing from NY

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. It appears that the boom is 4.75 inches in diameter , including the thickness of the grip material and the area where one could mount the boom mast attachment is four inches, No notches in the mounting area.

That doesn't sound right, 4.75 inches in diameter would be like a large drain pipe.
