Ive posted some old magazine articles on our forum but I have lots more and don't want to clog up that forum .
The other articles are on page 13 of Gosford longboard racing under windsurfing NSW

If you are inspired to race by the articles you might want to visit or join in on the October Long weekend. Go to the above page for details.
The first article covers the 1984 olympics featuring Greg Hyde and Bruce Wylie from Australia. The article is from windrider usa. The boards were windgliders and no harness was allowed!
The next article was published when the new windsurfer one design was being considered in 1985, ie the retracting CB and the higher aspect sail. Its amazing how much oposition there was including a petition. No such complaints with the Windsurfer LT transition.
The next article comes from the days when DIV 2 was going strong, but never made the splash in australiait did in Europe. Once again featuring Bruce Wylie .
Still to come if you guys show some interest.
Article on speed sailing in the days when 30knts was a world record.
Lots of board reviews, eg F2 lightning Mistral equipe, cobra 380
AND of special interest to me a series of articles about the marathons etc held through the whitsundays
With a view to recreating something perhaps next winter.
Heavy1, im an RB nut. Sail at Golden beach. Picked up a late model Speed RB with a lot of gear from Emerald. Amongst it was entry forms n race regs n sail stickers for BP Whitsunday Marathon. Turns out this board n gear used to belong to Dr Leo Hartley. One of the race organisers from back in the day. Earlier this year i bought a minto Starboard 380 Phantom from a local guy. Turns out it was Dr Leo Hartley. Spoke with him briefly about the Marathon. Sounds like it was a great event!
That pic of Bruce is at Palm Beach (Pittwater side) with Lion Island in the back ground. He killed it!!!!!!! I think that was an 8.0 sail which was huge for that tie period.
Heavy1, keep us all in the loop! Im sure itll be of interest.
Heres the 2 versions of Speed 250 F1i regularly sail.
fitted PB finbox to this one for big fin lightwind performance
Think this was last model made? Have left it 'el stocko'. This is my high wind favourite.
Darkman
Now adding some classic board reviews.
More boards to come, many from around the time the speed was made.
Later 3 articles on whitsundays and more:
Heavy1, ive only had the boards about 2years. Theyre well used. 28 years since manufacture n still going strong! Check Dags MINTO resto thread of Speed 250. Its in as new perfect condition!
Next installment, Ill start out with the 89/90 buyer guide. Its also posted back at gosfordlong board racing, but it helps think about price comparison and to date when certain volume boards came out. Then there are reviews of the cobra 380, one of the first 250 litre boards around 1987 then the lightning and equipe from around 89/90. This was the first 250 litre lightning.
Don't stop now keep publishing...That Mistral Equipe looks like the version on which the Mistral One Design was based. Please also post some of the tests and comments on the Bombora Astro APC for example.. Thanks a million.
Special request for RichardG, the next installment starts with Bombora APC. I wonder I there are still any of them around??
Then a special profile on Chris Lawrence contending the 88 olympics.
Then back to 1984 with the windrushspeed trials near perth, and two new world records, both of which many of us will personally break on a good weekend these days.
