Just out of interest more than anything else, do you ever get just blue sky in Cocos? How does the blue sky or cloud cover affect the wind?
It is very rare to get clear blue sky in the tropics, too much humidity to not have cloud formations. Come rain or patchy cloud the wind wind generally blow in trade wind season regardless.
Those Barras love kiters' feet they make a nice hole if they get a good bight.

Guess you haven't spent too much time in the humid countries. I have never ever seen a completely cloud-free day in Singapore in 5+ years.

No, I haven't which is why I asked. Here, a noreaster seabreeze wind is stronger when its blue sky and drops off a bit when it comes over cloudy. When its a frontal wind, it doesn't seem to follow this rule.
