Just had some skin cancer cut out of the nose, arm and shoulder(love to show some pics of it). Doctor told me no windsurfing for 3 weeks I always use zinc cream but looks like I have to go look for better stuff.

I have been told to use Bullfrog products as they are meant to be the best sunscreen on the market.

Any recommendations?

cheers

i'm told that most of the skin stuff we're getting cut out presently, was caused by running around unclothed getting burnt during our youth maybe 15+ years ago - so maybe your current sunscreen is okay and doing it's job, and is preventing you getting more removed in another 20 years

seems like there's a 10 - 20 year incubation period

maybe in a few more years they'll realise there's something nasty in current sunscreens, like the PABA stuff many years ago?

Isn't Hamilton brand supposed to be fairly free of known suspect ingredients?

I've been using the Vertra range of products for the last few years, When I remember to put it on I never get burnt. It's made in Australia and I personally think it's a great product...It's not cheap though, Great in and out of the water.

Aloe Gator works fine for me, not one burn since I started using it, doesn't run in the eyes and lasts for ages. (don't have to come back to shore for a second layer)

Just have to remind myself to cover the ears and back of neck

I second Aloe Gator Gel. Have to buy it from the USA but it's an outstanding sun block for use in the water. Rub it in and it last 8 hours. I've found nothing better.

Banana Boat - Sports stays on for a while.
But the best protection is to cover yourself as much as you can and wear (any) sunglasses.

+ 1 for Haircut and Goldcoast

Plenty of good products here: www.cancercouncilshop.org.au/, but even with SPF 50, they say to apply every 2 hours.

I have been a long time user of Banana Boat Sport (the orange stuff). It seems to have changed in the last year or so, and appears more runny.

Does it stay on (and effective) as much as the previous version. The older stuff you could tell wouldn't wash off, but the newer stuff seems to be a bit more likely to wash off, but I can't tell if it does.
