I always thought this footage may not have made the final cut for TWSM 1, or is for 2. Looks of a similar style:

Just subscribe to a good magazine and you could be the chosen one.....Hope its me can't wait to see myself in hi-def doing a catapult and smashing through my sail.

The first one was crap I have the dvd. I think might chuck it out. The music was so crap and footage was not the best. It was just another wavesail vid to me. I showed me cousin a non windsurfer, but is keen to learn. He got real bord with the vid and started making jokes half way through to me brother about some other topic. I thought to myself shows how crap the vid is. He was not even watching it. So I went and turned it off. I gave it 2 stars

The second one will be the same just all wavesailing stuff with crap music that does not even connect with the windsurfers at all. no speed sailing, no slalom

The only part of the video I say is good was the Josh angulo story at the end of it. The rest could of been better.

Who knows?

I liked the first one, borrowed it and watched it on the big screen, 100 inch diagonal screen.

The story on Josh Angulo was good, also the story on the paraplegic fellow was good too. The whole movie was entertaining.

LOVED the first one!

Especially with free beer courtesy of the guys at Surf FX! Wa-Hey!

Golden memories I'll never forget, if only I could remember them in the first place! Something about a big platter of chicken wings...some dude hooting like a loon every time Robbie came on...almost crashed my bike a dozen times on the way home!

Next time, I'd like to see more excellently cinematographed (can I say that?) scenes of people hooning like fark over flat or choppy water, and less of the big wave hookipa looping stuff -- that way we could put the dvd on at home and show people what WE do....

I'd feel especially gratified to be able to watch 3 hours of Robbie, Jason, Kev, Matt, Kauli, Josh, and the rest of the gang slogging in 3 knots on 170 litre boards with a 12.5m sails, getting drifted a few km and having to carry their gear back...

loved most of the first, but agree much of the narration was a bit corny, and some of music wasn't exactly up my alley

if i could put a custom order in for how i'd like the next:

loved the helicopter shot jumps and tricks type footage like the jason and levi stuff at the start and end, more of that please. footage shot from jetski is cool too

just a little DTL wave riding. doing it is one thing, but watching it is a bit like watching paint dry (in my opinion), but the huge and perfect cabo verde stuff is increadible so some of that is fine with me , just not too much of the typical hookipa and WA footage thanks.

some freestyle of course

some fast slalom action

some of the huge defi wind race footage would be good too

some recent speed sailing high-speed wipeouts

love to see a lot more historical windsurfing footage. was disappointed there wasn't more in the first.

don't put any music with it, i'll just turn my stereo up

pressing submit order now button

I loved the movie watch it all the time. Got all the songs and listen to them on the way to the beach. I think it is by far the best windsurfing action movie I have ever seen and good on Levi and those guys for putting the money and the effort into putting it together. I agree though that it would be cool to get some more speed and slalom action into the movie but they should make the movie longer not cut other action out. Can't wait for the next one along with the new movie by andre and the new addicted to ride.

the fact that they disregarded primary source commentary on how shortboard windsurfing began totally discredits these guys. Tell the truth you YANKS!

You fussy fcks...TWSM 1 had the best riders, best conditions and awesome (expensive) music to go with it. You dorks wanting slalom/speed - well yeah some of it is good but if DTL waveriding is like "watching paint dry" (Haircut) than what the hell do you call slalom?!, and oh what a bummer they put big loops in it... if people want to show there friends what they do (Wet Willy) than take those people to the beach/lake and get them to watch you!! Thank fck they made it in the first place and another one is coming out!

Did we watch the same film?, my mother in law watched it and thought it was awesome and the sound track rocked; Rolling stones, Kasabian etc etc i seriously hope your taking the piss, which i think and hope you are. The film brought windsurfing to a wider audience in 45 mins then slalom has in 10 years. Nothing wrong with slalmon id like to add.

some classic real slalom footage from the 80's in strong wind and in the surf is what i mean. it was so popular and different to todays stuff. More historical footage to tell the story of how things have evolved :)

dtl stuff where the blokes are doing tricks mixed in with it, like kauli, ricardo, marcelio brown stuff is great imo just not too much of the meat and potato endless up-down-up-down-off da lip stuff thanks. fun to do/try, just not so fun to watch too much of (sorry, just got to be honest), especially on a dvd where they could be including so much other interesting stuff

a little bit of everything with quite bit more history attached would be awesome i reckon

can't wait for more of the free andre and addicted to ride stuff too, just as good as a bought one

The Wind -SURFING movie hence wave sailing

two hours of flat water slalom sailin and speed sailing f*ck that would be exciting and I think everyones seen so much Bonaire camera smiling glossy freestyle that were over it. Think I would rather watch paint dry.

You can just never get enough good wavesailing on a vid - maybe I'm just bias.

I just picked up the latest issue of "Windsurfing" magazine and there is an article on "Where Have all the Young Guns Gone" which goes into some of the slalom v freestyle and/or wave disaplines in regards to sponsorship money and development.......going to slalom

I thought the Winsurfing movie was great. My 3 year old loved it. He comes out with his Wiggles gitar every time we play it (and we up to well over 50 times by now...many at his request) and gets me to grab mine - which I can't play but it doesn't matter, we dance around the room and watch windsurfing and he says that's the path he wants to go down following the Kai Lenny interview.

I take him down the beach and he is hanging off the boom on his 1m sail on my 80l wave board while I push him around in 10cm of water (no fin) thinking he is doing forward loops just like Levi and co (not that he has a clue who they are).

So....corny or not, I reckon it's a great movie and a great showcase for the sport for windsurfers and non windsurfers alike.

A little more slalom racing would be nice. The short bit of Grand Canaria (seconds of footage) was too short but hey, the movie captures attention and the music is great. I will definitely be getting version 2.0.

I sort of agree with the too much DTL stuff. The movie was partly aimed at non - sailors to get them interested in windsurfing ... more so than Spam, KA1111, Rip Etc. That is why it showed some history.
5 mins of bottom - top turn combos down the line with the odd 360 or goiter is tops for us to watch, but to the average person it looks all the same.

Show it to total clueless non sailors and they go OOOhhhhh and AAhhhh almost as much over the real fast slalom stuff as they do over big loops etc ..... I always here 'fck he's hardly ever in the water he's going so fast' etc etc...... but they last thru 30sec of DTL sailing and switch off totally

not sure if you guys ever watch it, but sometimes abc's rage has a countdown special on, and they seem to take a randomly selected show from consecutive years, 1972, 78, 84, 87 etc and then the follwing week they do the same again with a different show from a slightly different year. I'd really enjoy a windsurfing doco dvd series that came out like that, with footage taken over a range of years. would be like those k-tel hits from the 80's 90's cd packs that come out from time to time

Yer you tell them Peto, Dull and boring? watch the Red Bull storm Chase movie if you want to be really bored.

The first one was an awsome film, made buy pro's for a change.. The second one will kick ass i'm sure of it..

The only things wrong with the first is it was not long enough, could have watched at least another hour and there wasn't a Kauli Saudi section.. But i'm sure they will make up for it this time...

Hats off to Levi for making it all happen..

Hey Haircut get a copy of Wind Legends it's exactly what they did..

version 2 should include

sup course racing (triangle) in the surf with jumps on the way out and rides on the way in scoring bonus points.

They have neglected to tell that an Australian invented shortboard windsurfing. how can you praise these guys? They know how it began. Why do you credit these guys. they know the truth.

An Aussie did, really?

In the real early 80s, I was shuffling between US and Australia, and I can assure you there were homemade shorties real early on both sides. I even recall late 70s for the first cutoff Windsurfer in Hawaii (and an early experiment off Wanda by a friend of mine). By 1982, I remember all kind of shorties - homemade and others, in Tampa Bay.

I doubt "shortboard" windsurfing can be pinpointed to a single event or person.

Sorry to pick mate, I ain't a great yank-lover either, but I doubt it's a true blue invention and I like them's facts straight.

The book Complete Guide to Windsurfing (1983, I know it's crappy but I keep it because of a personal note from a long lost GF ) p. 26 states that by 1978 then-wave jumpers in Hawaii had convinced the owner of Windsurfer to come up with a shorter design, which led to the Windsurfer Rocket. It seems by then there was already wave jumping on shorter equipment.

Name is pierrec45, not pierre. Please.
