I find that hard to believe, only one, you probably hung around there too long, if you used to be a windsurfer you should understand that kiters trying to mix it up at Scarbs is a major problem. It's not a territorial issue, it's one of safety.
Windsurfers only take up a couple of meters of room each so we can have many in a small area where kites use around 30 meters. All windsurfers at Scarbs head out upwind, in upwind then down the line and do it again, it's an orderly thing of rhythmic beauty with barely a wave going to waste. Now throw an unpredictable kite in the middle of this flowing triangular perfection and hey presto, KAOS. Now who's the (in your words) F^*@ jerk spoiling all our enjoyment for a moment of personal glory.

Strange, so what you're saying is that before, you were kiting and you didn't why?
Gotta see a shrink, mate. Many others like you??

Usually, people give reasons like easier to learn, less exerting, that sort of stuff.

Could be worse. Could have been one of those w****rs that cause beaches to be closed.
Never heard of that with windsurfing, but there are a few threads about that in the kiting forum.

I doubt you ever windsurfed. I was out at Scarbs y'day & poleys & Kiters were intermingling quite happily.I'm assuming you did something retarded.

No doubt you have a valid complaint. Kids these days have a gigantic sense of self entitlement and if you don't agree with them you are unworthy of respect. It's something most of us grow out of or get knocked out of us. Just the same its annoying. You have my sympathy.

That's not meant to be ironic but it probably is.

I think you nailed it. He probably tried but was too hard for him so now he kites. You can find a photo of him in Caption comp 168.

"I must tell you I was doing a downwinder from down the coast "

Why do downwinders have to happen within 100 metres of the shore -- particularly at Dutchies on the inside of the reef where you get "downwinders" cutting across the main turning and wave (little waves I must say) area. I don't think too many of the downwinders venture much more than 200 metres from the shore down that way.

Oh well I managed to avoid the kite and harness that bounced and dragged all the way along the coast from Leighton? to Dutchies. Well done to the kiter who managed to get it steered into the beach without killing anyone...
