Just wondering who does, or has sailed, Sawtell? Need a good southerly option here on the Mid North Coast, and it seems Sawtell may just be it. Got a few details but any info is appreciated.

Cheers

Hey Phil, Ben and I have made sawtell our "go to spot" this summer and have sailed S, S/E's, and S/W's.

As with all spots and the various variable conditions like tide, swell, gusty-ness etc, we have had some great sessions, and some **** sessions. When wind is S/W and swell is big we tend to pike out and go to harbour.

It is an awesome spot in a N/E; I find launching from the Surf club is best on N/E and from the south you go to the car park at base of head land and drag gear to that spot where the little island is. Bit of wind shadow happens but you can blast through it and have nice long runs.

You should make a trek one weekend ;)

Hey Greg,

Cheers for the info.

Yeah, next southerly I'll try to head up. I'll let you know when I do.
