I got ION claw and with 29mm boom they are not really that good, forearms start hurting like hell really really soon. Haven't tried them with new boom though (26mm).

Probably the ones that have open palm would be good.

For summer I used to use biking gloves and they worked fine.

For cold in the winter....(and spring here this year!) the open palm mitts are amazing (well not amazing but they make a massive difference)

I guess they wouldnt help though. A guy I know uses very thin golf gloves and says they are brilliant, even for windsurfing holidays where you sail sandy spots for 10days running, they stop the blisters apparently. If only I could try myself on a 10day windsurfing holiday at hot sandy spot!

I just use my Ronstand fingerless sailing gloves... keeps the hands fairly warm... keeps the wind off the wet skin which I guess is the main thing.

Or...you could go down to your local surf shop, via the coffe shop and ask for a pair of HTFU gloves whilst you enjoy your chai (with an added spoonful of cement).

(I can't believe it's been 2 days & not mentioned yet!)

i am not 100% into the harness yet , so 4 hours with 30 knots winds are hard on my finger.

i have been using medical tape on the mussel below my thumb

I was thinking sailing or scuba glove , but think the scuba glove would be too stiff

My wife has a pair of Da Kine windsurfing gloves purchased from Wind Surf and Snow. She quite likes them.

I don't like windsurfing with gloves so have only used a pair of washing up gloves when the weather is really cold.

If you are coming to Canton this Sunday I'll give you an old Chinook boom. It might be a bit more comfortable on your hands than the boom you currently use. That is if I remember to bring it.

I use the da kine fingerless windsurfing gloves too.
They are really fine and don't alter grip noticeably, but they do reduce the blisters and keep the hands warm in winter.
I use them all year round now.

+1 for summer and since I got my new toasty winter wetsuit haven't needed anything else so far this season but I have a pair of Mystic neoprene full fingered gloves for when its really cold. The only problem is they are a size too big for me so they make holding onto the boom dicey. They'd be good in the right size..[}:)]

I use the Dakine full finger gloves in the summer and the O'Neill Psycho 1.5mm neoprene glove in the winter. The later can wear my forearms out quicker so I need to make a conscience effort to put all my weight in the harness and not grip so hard. The Dakine gloves typically last a season before getting holes at the tips (still use them anyway).
