Neat!
I find watching feet on a board skittering over choppy water mesmerising.
I love watching everything move to maintain perfect balance on something so fluid and unpredictably mobile.
The fact that it can be done for even a short period is amazing, let alone that it can be done for hours on end.
It's a tribute to human perseverance that such things can be thought of, experimented with and then worked on and perfected to the point that it all works so well.
I love it.
the rider in that first clip goes soooo close to the beach!
There are a few sandbanks like that on the Gold Coast. They drop off at near 90 degrees. You can right alongside them and the water is perfectly flat. Unreal for short speed runs. Maximum trim.
I've hit bottom. Once. Ouch.

Actually, dead right about the jellyfish. There were swarms of them in the river at Shoalhaven heads a few mths ago. The floods have cleared them out now.
I remember seeing that second one on Imax ages ago, late last century in fact.
Doesn't look at all dated to me.

Chris Lockwood's da man
Both vids = AWESOME
The board I ended up getting was a massive thing, not sure what it was used for, fricken heavy!!
Sails are no prob a mate has plenty of gear but his boards are small, way too small.
Ive been looking for a 130 lt something but a bit broke and I need a new surfboard before I can justify a windsurfer.
I think the sails are 5.5 & 6.5.
