after a lengthly drive from perth ,and no wind to be found at Geraldton on saturday it seemed unusual to have no wind at gero.bummer .so up at 6 am to the next destination shark bay .by 2 pm it was 14 -15 knots, and by 4pm 17 knots ..This is my mate on a 6.4 ,I had a 7.0 till i couldn't hold it anymore ,then went in to drink beer .after a good 3 hour session at 6.30.,great start to a 2 week windsurfing holiday .I had a 115 patrick ..and the 3 of us where busting to see who could get the best speeds on our new locosys gps watches ..the best we got was 51 kms ,very short chop at Denham so limited our speeds.more pics to come .with some drone .we spotted a rather large dugong ...sailing today ...sea cow.
my mates misses goes hard out on a 5.5 .what a women .
my mate on his ,115 rocket 6,4
tomorrow ,and all week is forecast for good wind ..corona is on special up here for $55, a carton . .
The water in the lagoon a bit further north is flatter, and if you can jag the tides and wind, boobbay is the speed spot
Cheers guys .had a ripper sail this morning @ 6am very flat .but had to go out further ,as the tide is quite low .the 22 inch delta weed fin came in handy ..
thanks Decrepit will see if the boys want to head up .
will do little lagoon. Tomorrow as the wind is coming up and can sail at all tides ... Might spend the day there with beer sausages and sails . As its meant to be 25 knots all day .all a bit sore and tired this morning as 2 of us are from over east way ..it's not everyday I sail till 9.30 at night ...east time ..still waking up at 3 am .
Here's the wagons loaded up 3 paddle boards in there too .8 windsurfing boards .thank goodness for backing cameras...and side mirrors .
Leeman down winder is on this weekend if you are coming that way. Must enter today asap now. No late entries. Close Thursday.

thanks .but where up here for the week .
heres few more .6.2 pryde sails vs 6.0 cheetah .i got a 60.69 kms 32.7 knots .on my cheetah and a 105 tabou ,the challenge is on in the camp .my mates had a 37 knot ,before ,so the camp record won't last long .
it was a little choppy to say the least .but a great 2nd day .
WE HAD A RIPPER DAY AT LITTLE LAGOON ,today 4 hour session ,25-28 knots ..great to get on a pointer fin again .we where only just hanging onto our 6,0 and 6,2 in the end ,,,it was howling .
if it's 25+ solid knots, you can also sail straight out the front of the Monkey Mia resort. Mate and I did it last November 3 days in a row. 28+ every day and 2.5km runs from the beach west right across the bay, flat water to gybe in then 2.5k on the way back. Epic and super flat being no more than 100-200m off the beach. just sail over the top of the Bronze Whalers. They didn't seem to mind last year
Ha thanks wa881, they are only fish right ...
but yes have heard its good at Monkey Mia ...
still ,here now ..but expecting 25 knots by 3 ..
day 4 another ripper after noon ,have 40 minutes on a 7.0 at 3, before having to changed down to the 6.0 , followed by a few beers and sunset ,i took a long run down the north end of Denham.3km.
took 5 long tacks to get back up was dark and weedy right out there behind the boats ,but there are no sharks in shark bay (,first picture).was hoping for a green flash but not to be .
Ese yesterday .had some great runs out and along side the weed bank ..sea breeze 2 runs then it died .
so our boards are patiently waiting for the next seabreeze today ...
Bluey has been keeping the cockroaches at bay .
light wind means GROM time .
ahhh...the wind really blew today ,first sail any 7,30am ...2nd sail at 12....thank goodness for the 22 delta fin at low tide .,lunch at 2 then out again ,,,,6,0 ,5.5 was the sail ,,then at 5 pm 5,0...some sore muscles ,now .saw 2 dolphins in the shallow water ...yesterday, i saw a 5 foot shark ,i was in a collision course with it i was not planing ,it turned and swam away ...it was not interested in me ... so i wasn't worried ,,,lots of manta rays up here too.we are staying a extra day as the wind is perfect tomorrow too....hope I'm not boring anyone with the photos ,...
Yesterday we where all worn out by 5pm .
Cheers old school .we woke to this ,it doesn't look like much but it was a solid 18-25knot ..on the water by 6.30 ..am
As we carried our sails over for the last time ,it was hard to say goodbye to shark bay for another year .
My last few runs at little lagoon I had a 38 " slightly over powered in gusts found my self breaking it under pressure .
either a badly made fin or too much back foot power .fairly new fin ..shattered .it was fin trying to get to the other side ,the water is so salty at little lagoon it burns your nostrils .but a great place to sail.
i highly recommend Denham. .we sailed 2-3 times a day ,everyday .most used sail was a 6.0 .and 105 litre board
me 95 kgs .8 days of sailing .take a 7.0 if you want to increase your sailing times.
great thing about it we didn't have to De rig our sails .
thanks to Rob ,trudy and Rachel at Ray white holiday homes .
hope you enjoyed the pics .
FIN.
