Being new to the sport they're new to me. They look great. Love the idea because I have different booms I use with different sails. Where do I get 'em - particularly in WA?
I bought a pair to give them a go, rather than stick with the usual.
To cut a long story short they work absolutely fine until you load
up your sail and hang 90+ kg on the harness line. They then slip quite
a bit.
They are certainly quick and easy to put on, and adjustable it seems. You could have one pair for a number of booms, but are they strong enough to withstand the forces applied? Ploppy indicates they slip, which would not be useful. Testing and feedback from users required.
I really like the basic design and the idea but fear the material choice is incorrect. I have broken 2 clips and they slip if you do not put the clip around the right way which is easily done.
The clips need to be made out of an engineering grade material like Nylon or similar.
They are probably fine for lighter sailors and starters but for heavier more agressive sailors I am afraid they currently aren't up to scratch.
My opinion anyway.
