We had a little gathering to mark the d-30 of the Airwaves PWA Nouméa Dream Cup.

Large group of sailors went to Goeland island (yes the one in the paradise clip ) to form a 30 with their gear :

Oh boy, that looks like a tonne of fun. Big props to Fred for some really slick transitions in there, I rarely see anyone tack these days!
Is there's anything better than blasting a metre away (or less! ) from a mate? Nope, I thought not.

I keep wondering why they call it "airwaves" when there is only the slalom racing?

seems a few guys are taking the event very seriously, one international competitor was spotted training in Nouméa three weeks ahead of the comp.... :-)

For those who didn't do French at school fast forward to 7.00



20 k were covered in around 20 mins on kitefoil and windsurf, the last competitor on a SUP took 4.30 hours..


winds from 20 to 30 knts on arrival , more 15/20 at the statrt of the race
