I think it was about a year and a half ago using epoxy and acrylic dust, I regripped my windsurfing board and the result was it looked clear shiny and felt rough.
After about a year a few parts near the mast foot were starting to lose grip so I decided to regrip just that section, boxed it off with tape sanded it back, cleaned and then regripped. This time the area looked opaque. I kinda liked that effect.
I have had a little bit of free time and decided to do the whole board again thinking that the same epoxy (same container) and the same acrylic dust will equal an opaque result. Nah it's shiny. How is that possible?
I used only a small amount of epoxy (less than 50ml) I made sure it was thin just like last time.
Very high humidity makes epoxy milky
Was it possibly moisture affected for one appliation?

Could have been, I have never thought of checking the humidity, I usually wait until there are a few sunny or non-rainy days cause the only place that I have to work is outside in a little courtyard.
I've started looking into how to make epoxy opaque. It looks like a few drops of white paint can do it. So next time I'll do a few tests and see if I can get the effect that I am after. No sense in sanding back and starting again, it looks okay but I just wanted the opaque to soften the Innegra carbon out a little.
Thanks though, at least it gives me a better idea of what I did.
What if the board was wet though or there were drops of water in the epoxy could that also cause the opaque look?
