Carpark at the end of North St.

Called "The Train" because you used to be able to catch a train to sail there, about 100 years ago. As an aside the Gold Coast trains from Brisbane have windsurfers etched into the glass panels near doors.

Works on a N, NE and SE, the most common wind directions.
Best at mid tide as the banks are exposed.

Its called the train coz there used to be a steam locomotive there. It was there back in the nineties.

Why was the train removed? Public liability concerns from the GCCC?

The broadwater is the only real flatwater windsurfing spot around the Gold Coast.

Look up the following on Seabreeze....

"Shearwater or the Train?"

When ive been over in oz on holiday i've seen a few people sailing at currumbin..small slow glassy waves...looked nice...i think slightly higher volume boards( around 100l ) were being used...also at " the broadwater " closer to surfers itself looked ok for some flatwater blasting...
