Is he the only one in the Gorge that can jump like this?
It looks like an ideal spot for jumping in that the wind is coming straight down the river and so is the swell.
I believe Sailworx designed the "Hucker" especially for this guy for this location to help him do this....
Does he do this?
****tones of wind and very good sail and board position, which is not that easy in that sort of wind.
Custom Slalom based board (heavily reinforced), Fast fin and a sail designed for laying of horizontally so as to generate extra lift and hang time.
That and some big nads
Must have been all those hang-gliding lessons...
And he should be careful or he is going to land ON a kite !
It is awesome that a very small percentage of windsurfers are capable of getting mega air of small ramps due to good wind and lots of skill - making your own lift by using the sail as a wing. Not like getting dragged up there by a kite.
Stoke!
There you go I fixed it.
Hey, ex windsurfer here so you don't have to convince me how good the sport is, and yeh I was never that good at w/surf but could harness up and carve turn ok and had a blast, then motorcycle enduro took over for 8 years or so.
I do get a little sick of the "it's so easy so it's **** argument though"...
Pffft 4 lessons and then handlpassing, how embarrassing, I was pulling h/p's to blind on my 2'nd time up on the board UUUmmmmm not.
I think the problem sailing there would be how to keep the board on the water! Not that I dont appreciate his awesome skill + fitness..Radical place..
