since there is already some discussion about doing something with the mast track on a BIC --what about a FUC board ?
FUC = Fanatic Ultra CAT

the clip that locks to the track broke off and super glue did a better job than epoxy

as you can see, i retrofitted the mast base to allow US mast extensions to be used and put some extra hardware to ensure it all stays together - in this photo i made it hold in place when the clip was broken OFF

the mast track allows adjustment on the fly, butt rarely did this and now not
and so... the thought was - why not find a way to put modern mast track on the board ?
i love this board in light winds - under 12 knots - it gets me on the water and is much faster than KONA

so, any thoughts on this ? remove the screws and put new track on or ??

I've fitted a modern mast base to an old sliding mast track, not a FUC one but a Tyronsea. It turned out I could replace the carriage with a piece of 6mm aluminium plate that slid nicely in the track. I then tapped two threads into the plate and could then attach a two-bolt mast base direct to the plate. The whole thing still works a sliding track. I've also purchased RSX-board mast tracks but this was for a board I built, you'd want to check it fits the FUC cut-out.

I believe the RSX track mast has be copied on the fanatic one ( not 100% sure though) and could be the same.
If you know someone who has an RSX or a shop who has a spare track, it worth the try.

hey joe, your track is 1st generation, 1980's fanatic, i had the same track on my cobra raceboard.
if i remember correctly; that tab that broke off was replaceable and held on with a screw? and if not, wouldn't a small self taper and glue fix it?

yes - it is a 1980's 1st generation Fanatic Ultra CAT = FUC
the screw for the tab did NOT wanna come off and where was i supposed to get another "tab" ???
and so , i tried epoxy, which lasted for three(3) outings
tried multiple applications of some crazeee glue and it has held since
but i donut trust it AND the track has "slipped" on occasion
they coulda done a better design - the Cobra race track looks tighter = NO slippage
guess no-one has one of these Fanatic mast bases hangin around ? :-)
i am in Canada, butt shipping should be cheap ...

since the track mounts from the top - NO slider retro-fit options are possible %^&*()
