Noticed today that the rail of my severne nano 78 is splitting (pic1).
Just had the nose fixed, which was already the second repair as you can see on the photo. So I'm hoping this is not a major repair again... Any thoughts/advice? Some epoxy over the top won't be sufficient I suppose?
Absolutely love the board, but man it is fragile.
Maybe just a bad board. I went through 2 x 105L dyno's first all blue models, the shop I bought it off did help me heaps with replacements, I believe there was a period were Severne boards were questionable, a change of manufacture. Same deal loved the 105L dyno but could risk the down time without the boards. They were compression moulded. haven't had a Severne board since.
That is not a good look that crack. Looks like there is movement there and water is likely getting in.
Neither is the massive crack across the front of the board. I'd be more worried about the questionable looking repair on the front. I'm not sure how that was fixed. I hope it wasn't just glued together.
@Imax1 The nose crack was repaired professionally a couple of weeks ago in Europe, but it happened after a relatively harmless flat landing...
Just trying to understand the mechanism... Had cracks before under, before and between the footpads, but always transverse, never seen a rail split. Manufacturing problem?
will start looking for a replacement
Pretty minor for a structural one if that makes sense. Right on the back foot, probably the stongest part.
Given a previous flat landing and the age of the board I don't think anyone can bag out SV here!!!! Its a 6 to 7 y/o WAVE board
Glass it and it will be fine.
As to the brand - some from the first factory had issues, they changed factories and it was good.
I repair them often only cos its WA and popular etc, the current double sandwich rear is the best construction I can think of for such a light board. They're bloody ripper. Last thing I'd call a 1st gen Nano is fragile. More like this board has had quite a life....

Oh, I thought the crack was after it was fixed, my bad. The fix looks good.
