Not wrong about Mandalay. Getting wind and waves to line up is a rare event.
Bloody long walk down to the beach too.
yeah agree fitz. i'll be back there in winter as I usually go to wello which is equally as good but without clear water. I sailed there in a northerly in November and it looked exactly like that. crystal clear.
Yeah, we were in Arugam Bay for 4 nights in July and it blew every day. Was calm in the mornings then around 10 it would start building to about 20 knots and blow until late afternoon, cross off. There are some long point breaks there which break the right way for the wind but are fairly crowded and the Americans were very SUP unfriendly so I'm guessing a windsurfer wouldn't get much love either.
Lake georgio on a "bad" day 25-30 knots wind -
Heading out onto the lake
Coming back into the flat section before the bear away.
Lancelin back beach in no swell with a crazy ESE. Terrible conditions but still an awesome day sailing.
Waratah Bay (near Sandy Point), VIC. Long walk to the water... Great for landsailing though - there was a guy on one this day, but I didn't get a pic
that stretch between Lancelin and Cervantes is awesome. I have not been up that way for at least 20 years now, but as a kid, we used to go up there alot. We had a Beach Shack up that way and have great memories as a kid sitting on the front of dads FJ40 with my cousins, cruising up to wedge. Hell you would get roasted these days with the PC police for allowing your kids to do that.
so many great places in WA to go sailing. Will be back one day.
