Thought any of you speed freaks would like to see what weve been sailing on in the easterelys. Thanks to the big wet at the start of the year pushing all the sand to the front of the river mouth, you can actually get on the glass section on the inside of the bar as the bar drops straight off, a good 2-300m run from one side to other well worth calling in if your driving past.
Well that seems to be pretty good. Could you please let us know just where about in Bowen that location is.
North end of Queens Beach(mouth of the don river), end of the road carpark, gotta pick ya tide, min 1.3m.
neaping tides the best when it hangs around 1.5 to 2.2m all day.
Hey Herb I was down there a couple of weeks ago and sailed with Wormy there it was great.Front beach in the morning and the mouth of the Don in the arvo one o the best locations in NQ.Give me a call if you are passing through. Cheers Nigel
Good to hear from you NBR. Still doing our thing on dam and loving it all. Often check out Townsville graphs and commiserate with you. Good to hear you had good time at Bowen, or is it Blowen ?. Lyn sez Hi!
