We managed to get a few of our Mob down to the beach on a nice sunny FNQ day for a group photo with the 2010 GTC Oz Winters Cup.
I would like to sincerely thank Hardie and Nebbian for starting GTC and all the work they do. FNQ Mob was there from the beginning with just Troppo and I the only members, we have now grown to one of the biggest and best teams. By best I mean we have a great friendly mob consisting of young and not so young, with a wide variety of abilities, spread over the far north and a little further. The beauty of the Challenge is although most of my team live and sail in my area, I didn't really know them before but now they are some of my best friends
Ok here we go L to R
Peter, Kamikaze Cam, Kel, Big Ed, Me, Hoppy, Freddy, Lovely Lyn, Lyn's pit crew Herby and in front Rowdy...
Close up of the cup...
Afterwards Cam on his aircraft carrier & 9M+ sail on the Clifton Speed Strip and no he didn't get going...
That is utterly fantastic
So good to see lots of happy smiling faces, and great to put faces to names...
Got a really nice email from a dutch captain the other day saying how people are smiling at the beach now, instead of being grumpy.
That warms the cockles of my heart
I see everyone was in their work clothes for the photo. Great shot - one happy team although there's always one fool either giving it the thumbs up or pulling a face
PS -Cam, I need to get me one of those battleships. This has to be the worst winter for wind in a long while (well compared to last year now looking at session data)
Fitting effort for such a fine bunch of potential next FNQ Parliament dudes. Anna should be worried maybe!
good to see guys.
Great effort you guys
See you in about Mid October Firie save a small breeze. Cant go that far and not get a blast on the water
Is it just me or is Cam a spitting image clone of Hardie??????
not that you would really want to claim that
