I badly damaged the 46cm Talon
it looks like this
1. What the best material to fill it with, Epoxy with filler/ superglue?
2. I was thinking of using a contour gauge to help maintain the leading edge profile, is there a magic trick to this?
put some masking tape along the area you want to fill and fill with 24hr araldite ,when it has soft gelled use a long Stanly blade and trim off excess, repeat on the other side
when both sides are done , don't sand , use the long Stanley and scrape to blend to the original, if you sand you will sand the either side of the repair
you can also mix the araldite and let it stand and cure a bit and then apply , then stick a bit vinyl over it and blend in , don't use soft plastic or glad wrap, when cured scrape to blend
I've used Selleys Aqua Knead-It for my repairs and, contrary to Keef's instructions, sanded it. I've got a really strong smooth finish (and a smaller mis-shapen fin)
Listen to Keef.

mike I have used the black metal knead-it , it works great with the G10 as well as it sets in 5min and you can scrape it back after 10min
Epoxy resin with microfibres. Knead it has poor abrasion resistance. It will wear off after a couple of sessions.

Ive done has Keef has but I actually use a file first to rough the shape down to the same level as the fin and then just wet and dry. Very easy and very good results. Still not robust enough and wears away too easily so I'm going ro try the microfiber that Ian suggests.
