Hey folks, its Friday night (week 1) and we finally got some wind... yay!
Wind started slow from the WNW, then swung to WSW around 1pm. It hovered around 16-18kn for most of the time, with the odd 22kn gusts, eventually dieing around 4.30pm.
Dan Engdahl decided that hauling torque was a good idea with his 6.7 Severne Code Red, with a 5x10 of 34kn. Most guys sailed on 6-7m, with slalom boards the go and pushed 30kn.

i think there will be a few CA SP40's at the inlet tomorrow.....we could tie them all up and make a raft if all else fails
Wind looking reasonable for Monday, some of the big guns have turned up ready for the onslaught.
Mal Wright,Daffy, Vando, Chris Diamond, Dan Engdahl, Chris Lockwood, Chris Adamson, Choco?, just to name a few of the guys here at the moment.
All that is left is a few prayers to the wind gods then wait for the winds.

Om. Om. Om. Om.
But seriously looks like 30knots is about as much wind as we can hope for. I hope I'm wrong. I'll be there too if all works out well with sick family.
Monday, short update, some wind finally arrived but not of any strength.
We had the biggest turnout of speed sailors I have seen since way back in 1994 with all of the top guys around Australia turning up except for big Tony..
I believe Chris L. had a 2sec of 39 and Mal W. a 2 sec of 38 on my gear, with a number of other guys reaching 37.
Some of the guys are still out sailing.
Full details when the data is analyzed.
