Hi jfar,

You'll need to download the windsurfing datafield from ConnectIQ, sync it, then create a custom activity/app on your watch.

- Open Garmin Connect App on your phone.
- Click More, then scroll down to ConnectIQ store
- Search for "Wind/Kite Surfing Datafield", then download it.
- Sync your watch with your phone, and the datafield gets transferred across.
- On your watch, short press the "-" button (right side) to show activities/apps, then scroll down to "Add New"
- Scroll down the list to template type "Other", and choose a colour (doesnt matter which one you pick)
- Scroll down and Choose Name "Other"
- Choose "Use Default" settings
- Choose GPS "On". You'll then see an "Other" activity in your apps list

- Long press the "-" button (right side) for 1 second to open the menu
- Scroll down to Settings and select it
- Scroll down to Apps and select
- Choose the new "Other" app you just created
- Choose "Other Settings"
- Chose "Data Screens"
- Deselect "Screen 2", "Screen 3" and "HR Zone Gauge" by clicking on the toggle button to the right of the screen label
- Select Screen 1
- Select Edit Datafields
- Press on the top datafield
- Select Connect IQ
- Select Wind/Kitesurfing Datafield

You can set up other datafields however you like - I have the windsurfing field on top (cycles through 2sec, 5x10 speeds) then Time of Day middle and Distance at the bottom. You can choose heart rate etc if you like.

Once you've set it up as above, its ready to use.
- Short press the "-" button
- Choose the "Other" activity you just created
- It will load the screen and say "Wait for GPS" - once the GPS icon goes green, press the "-" button again to start recording the session. Press the "-" to stop/restart recording.

You will also need to set the GPS to 1 second recording instead of the "Smart recording" default.
- Long press on "-" button to access menu
- Select "Settings"
- Select "System"
- Select "Data Recording"
- Choose "Every Second"

Hope this helps. Its a great everyday smart watch. Mine is 6 months old and going strong. Battery life is almost 2 weeks if you turn off HR monitoring and don't do any GPS sessions.

Cheers

Unfortunately, GPSTC does not allow posting of the data. As nice as it is to use, and as close to accurate it seems. So, I think if you want to talk about it's usage, best to stick to the "General" forum and not the GPS forum.

Maybe then we should rename the section, "gpsTC and speed talk" instead of "GPS and speed talk" ?

Grumpy, not having a shot, but not everyone uses their gps device to post on gpstc. For some it can be just recreational and this section is full of ressources.

Might as well keep all gps related topics in this area to keep the forum clearer, don't you agree ?

cheers
