Strop just sent me his file, to see the GPSSpeeadreader GE overlay, so I thought I'd share it here.
Shows an overall accuracy of 0.057, with each individual point at 0.272
And most of the run over 40kts.
judged to perfection no acceleration at the beginning or deceleration at the end
That was a great couple of days and an epic result by Strop what kit were you on for the NM run Strop?
According to his write up here,
www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2020-02-06&team=105
ISONIC 55W 07MODEL SIMMER STYLE SCR 6.3 TRIBAL DELTA 16.
I had the pleasure (?) of taking of about 20secs later and watching him accelerate away from me.
Just made even worst by spotting his second best Nm run showing 39.589kn which would have also been a PB for Glen
I'm still checking the file out. Strop's fastest time wasn't the NM run, that had the 2nd fastest 2s at 42.376. Min NM speed was 38.9, but only for 1s then the rest of the run was all over 39.
Lilacs is a fairly easy place to do a 30+ NM. But getting 40 takes skill and thought. It's weedy at the start and shallow at the end, just how you get the full NM in at top speed, is very tricky, most of mine have slow starts and/or finishes. guess I get nervous when I see the shallow sand bank coming up.
Just checked, and that did have some acceleration at the start and deceleration at the finish.
That was a wicked mid week sesh. We as a team had 17PBs over the Wed sesh & Thurs morning sesh. Cut short by an injury so we left just before Stroppo made his run. A 40knt NM was also coined prior to the event so that makes it cool too. Stroppo was on some 'gear' which certainly fueled his run, fact is he ate cake!! LOL Way to go Stroppo!
Yeah thanks Mike and peeps was nice to see that google overlay and yeah great day and company
happy days
