This happens @ lake Motosuke in Japan
We have rainy season right now, almost nowhere wind, especially no strong, so why not making a speed dash with thermal winds, large 85cm boards and 8,6 sails?

That looks like a very healthy speed sailing scene with so many sailors!

Are those speeds for 10 seconds or for 2 seconds?

It is very different from what we think of as 'Speed Sailing' but it looks like a lot of fun!

What a great event in a stunning location.

Great speeds for the winds and the gear sizing.

Don't need a translator for the GPS Check banter/bull****

nice work

what a picturesque spot to sail, and such a great roll up. Big gear sailing looks like fun.

All speed where as of the GPS display, should be 2sec top speed.
The top 4 guys are the usual guys from from our slalom tour but behind many locals and other speed addicted people.
The guy with one feet spin loop attempt is Captain Jibe (he also goes by the name Taketomo), he is enjoying a high reputation for stunts. Especially the first jibe mark in slalom competitions. As his speed is really fast and he is out of fear or constraints, he usually benefits from a larger space so that he can swim without hurting anyone. ??
The place itself is really great, there is even a campaign ground next to it. On good days you can go with 7.8 and the water remains flat, perfect.

Very enjoyable movie thanks for posting!

I've never really been a fan of the Maui sails but I must admit I thought the TRXI was the best looking sail out there.

Great video, takes me back to LBG, wind gusting to a green arrow, wide slalom boards, 7.8s, chop appropriate to the wind speed. Proper speed sailing. If board speed to windspeed is the measure, not that that ratio is realistically measurable, but if it was, the sailors in that video have got to be up there with the best ever on windsurfing gear.

Some great examples of how to make the big gear get up and boggie. Looks like they're having a blast. Could make me think twice about changing down next time

The best urologist I've ever seen was in Germany/Bochum ==> Frauenartzt Dr Loch ==> Dr Hole, I wonder how many customers he really has...

Mmm, perhaps Dr Hole needed glasses.
Back to the subject. Shinobi, there are a few more lakes around near Fuji San. I have visited Ashi lake near Hakone. Are any of these lakes good for windsurfing???
