Thumbs Up

Round 6 of the Windsurfing Queensland Slalom series was blessed with some excellent conditions at Lake Cootharaba over the weekend. Some 20 plus sailors from the Sunny coast and a Brisbane competed in consistent winds gusting over the 20 mark at times. With a relatively short course to keep the fleet in the middle of the fan, it really was a day for the burn and turn, with some guys clocking 30kts on the broad reaching leg. Needless to say it made for very exciting racing for all concerned.

It was great to see a large number of sailors make their way up from brissy with most making a weekend of it.

A huge thanks from WQ to Charlie and the LCSC.

Congratulations to the winners on the day Simon Fyfe (open slalom) Ian Teakle (freeride slalom).

Thumbs Up

Big thumbs up, it was an excellent weekend, a bit showery but the wind was pretty good both days. If anything it dropped a little bit for the races, but no complaints, we had a great time.

Again, an enormous thankyou to Charlie, he was pretty busy that day as there was some sailboat racing going on as well.

My only complaint as a spectator was that the race was held too far off shore! One of these days I'll get back into a start boat ;-)
