Looks like Perth is in for a wet and windy Wednesday with it gusting over 30 knots. Will be interesting to see if the big guns hit the water and where the location du jour will be for laying down some big numbers. Will the beaver bite or rsoles go nasty...can't wait to see the numbers. Go big or go home speedsters!
Yes well the older gentlemen among us are looking for excuses why we can't sail today, my backs a bit sore, and my big toe is itchy , we will gather at the estuary and look for flat water, atm the storm surge is not as huge as expected, which is a good sign meaning flat water possibility, but wind is still fairly light at 6.54am perth time, latest wind reading at Mandurah 12kts wsw
Us little guns are pumped too. Especially when we have a day off and there's wind. Woohoo
And nobody can jinx the wind now
Thanks Hardie, used to love these days sailing out the front of the beach house in Rockingham. Stiff NW blow followed by the swing around to W SW.. Hopefully not too much rain and some flat water to be found.
OK we are leaving now and meeting at Fangies, though the back and toe itch may prevent me from sailing
Lunny will be there with his WindTech SilverBullet 57, hopefully first decent wind since he's had the board. Yeew

The game is on, 38 knots is the number to beat for the Windtech 57! Let's see what Lunny has got.
I may have got the strongest of the wind, if you look at the willy weather graph, the highest winds were when I was sailing, and I was the only one out, when I came back in another 3 went out, Lunny, Tomski and Spotty.
Another crew decided to go to Australind as they thought there were too many weedbergs at Fangys (not the case), so drove an hr south, and I heard from them theyr were still looking for sailable water, so they may have erred?
My 40kts was in a moderate gust, then the wind picked up and I just went slower, my 5.9m was way too big, the sail was getting ripped out of my arms, and I was getting slammed into the water, so called it
Edit = willy weather gets its wind reading from the Mandurah Yatch Club which in in a sheltered area, it showed gusting to 37kts, I wouldve said at its peak it was easily blowing 35kts+ and hard
Edit 2 = Roo you Chalko and Manfred wrecked it for me today with your insistence of Bloody Doppler, my 2 sec track point was 42.324kts which was how it felt out there

Sorry Hardie. Thats a spike!
What did you other GPS say?
Sailor of the day slowie on a 5.5KAR and 137 Board 40.6kn
Wow just wow! Why the hell did Chris take a 137 out? Sounds like madness. Amazing no doubt. If he was on a speed board what would he have done? Wow!

Slowie had the flu, was under the weather and wanted to take is easy, plus wanted to tune and try the new 5.5KAR. He would have smashed it on his normal setup with the 2019 6.3KAR
Smokin' Lunny, you fanged that 57 to within an inch of its life. All hail the WindTech King!
Big balls award to Stroppo with a 42+, showed the nancy boys how to do it.
For those that could only crack the low 30's...what your excuse, just watch the big boys and learn. Maybe a nice speed therapy session with Dr. Hardie to unlock those inner speed demons and get over 40. Hardie you may want to write a prescription for some HTFU pills for yourself.
Well done to everyone who braved the conditions, would have loved to have been there with you.

everything slowie rides is a potential speed board....just not for mere mortals.
