No sailing for me today whilst the MCL ligament heals in my right knee. So I thought it would be worthwhile to head down to Woolumboola, near Culburra to check out some of the ACT Gustbusters practicing for the Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge next month.

Keef, Gav, Rick, Craig and Dezza were there showing me what real windsurfers do. Unlike the guy who dabbled in kitesurfing last weekend... Keefy had some interesting times even before hitting the water with his sails. Looks like they didn't want to get wet. Anyway, after some time he managed to select one that wanted to play so all was good.

There were plenty of speeds being clocked well and truly in excess of the 31kts today. The depth looked okay however most of the guys and gal were on nothing more than a 23cm weedy. Standing by to be corrected on that....

Hope you like the shots!

No wonder Keefy takes forever to rig. Turns out he rigs everyone else's gear as well

Craig fully powered up, screaming along in the lake's waters.

Rick doing a nice carving gybe.

Big Gav loving his new Naish board with some excellent speeds too!

Dezza screaming - and not because of being overpowered. Not one little bit eh?

The 'Grinning Ginga' having a terrible time by the looks of it...

Clearly he was smiling from pulling off a great double flaka! Sorry I missed the money shot mate

Craig and Dezza flying!

By the time Keefy had finally rigged, most people were heading home for a Nanna nap!

Gav and Craig having an awesome drag. I think they would look horrendous in drag personally...

Keefy couldn't help having one last chat before heading out. Luckily for Craig it was a quick one (I think). I wandered off after 45mins...

But once he was out there, he managed to get upwind in the blink of an eye and was showing some incredible speeds. Impressive effort mate! Here we see Keef, Craig and Rick blasting along.

A great shot of Gav carving a great gybe with Rick and Dezza looking in sheer awe!!!! (NB: Not sure if I can confirm the second bit of that sentence Gav)

I can say however Gav that I was in absolute astonishment of your one handed spock that you (nearly) pulled off. Sorry again for no money shot.

By the looks of it, he gave it a 15/10! :))

Craig was so impressed with Gav's one handed spock he was jumping up and down on his board like some kind of windsuring simian!
