Hi, Just wondering the best spots to sail on Lake Hume. Looks like a lot of the lake foreshore is private farmland.
Anyone sailed up the Table Top end (Bowna Waters boat ramp).
Thanks.
When I lived in Albury (near on 20 years ago!) I virtually gave up windsurfing - bought a boat and went skiing.....but that is another story.
In the rare moments when the wind was on I windsurfed from a spot off Lake Road, over the bridge near Bellbridge - seemed to be the most popular spot - not sure of the exact location though. I also sailed from the Bowna Waters boat ramp a few times. Back then I was on a slalom board, and/or a formula board.
I also vaguely remember sailing from the Lake Hume Tourist Park on a raceboard a few times.
I reckon the locals still get out when it is windy.
The lake might be spot on for foiling...?
Good luck
There are a couple of windsurfers in Albury, (MattT& Daryl) but they have not been sailing much recently. Maybe Lake Hume is a bit too low (26%)? I sailed at Ebden in Nov when the level was 42%.
The spots to sail from are Ebden, Table Top/Bowna Waters, and Bellbridge. There are also a number of kiters who get out more often.
I am at Yarrawonga, and sail from the Yacht Club here mostly. Nice lawn to rig on, and it is good in SW wind. It is 1 hour from Albury, and the lake level is normally full.
Took a trip to Albury. Here's some pics with the Dam at 30%.
Photo's in location order.
Sorry no idea how to flip them on Seabreeze. They are all right way up on my phones gallery.
