If he pulls too hard on that rope his legs will implode. Needs a good solid lump of wood between the belt buckle and the mast base.

This is the way to go.... A bit pricey though....but if it saves your back, it's priceless....

The beaut thing about this system is that you can add/release downhaul with ease, even on the water.
