Good morning. Sadly the blasting Westerly from last night didn't last. When I got up this morning at 6 am there virtually was no wind at all. Although the overnight wind brought a bit of swell with it.
It's currently 4 to 5 foot with a 10 to 15 knt Westerly. Perfect weather for a surf and there are plenty of people out in Gerroa. Saw a guy trying to launch his kite as I was taking the photos but there simply wasn't enough wind to keep it in the air.
Forecast calls for the wind to die out by lunch time. I am shortly heading up to Port Kembla to get a few snaps of the NSW Wavesailing Comp there. If they hurry up the lighter guys might actually be able to get out and catch some waves. If you are in the area why not drop by. Windsurf and Snow will have a bunch of 2011 gear on demo.
There is a faint chance of a NEer tomorrow afternoon.
Side Note: Managed to take one of those brand new 99 L JP Thrusters in the crazy NW for quick 30 minute sail yesterday. Will post a short write on that board later today.
Jebus!!?! Do you actually sit there all day waiting to pounce?? That was less than 5 min. Keep up the good work tiger
Hey Dan,
You missed out this afternoon. While there was no chance for the lard arse fraction to get out a few of lighter guys made the most of the odd shoulder to head high sets and 10 knt NEer that came in late.
For some strange reason the Gerroa wind machine turn on a very light NEer.
Should be ok tomorrow.
