Is Kurnell actually as windy as the graphs say it is?

I generally knock 10 knots off the Airport graph for example. If it's from the North.

Wondering if it's worth my while to drive all the way to Kurnell to catch actual, real wind. It's been a **** season so far.

The AWS for Kurnell is out on the end of the refinery wharf - make of that what you will.

Is it 30m up in the air?

Kurnell AWS

with a mast height of 10m - probably not, but guessing you could add 3 or 4m from water level to top of wharf maybe. So lets say 15m high?

Kurnell is definitely considerably stronger and steadier in a nor easter. Just sail over there from Kyeemagh on a few different days and I'm sure it will confirm it for you. I always figured people only sailed at Kyeemagh because they don't like chop.
