El Nino generally gives us more and better NE's.. So does La Nina mean less wind?
They are predicting La Nina for Spring and Summer..
Due to lower temperatures there may be fewer or less strong NE's, But there is a higher chance of cyclones. I doubt we will be able to tell the difference.
However if you are looking for a reason to buy a foil then you could use the EL Nino argument to convince Graham that you need to spend money on Foil gear as your slapping gear will not suit the forecast light conditions.

Nah need another year to try and get my gybes going in the chop first..
I'll be happy if we don't get anymore fiery tornado's or walls of flaming doom. The smoke killed a lot of north easterlies not to mention lives.
I'll put up with mediocre south easterlies if we can skip the nuclear winter.

Yep..bring on the rain.. just give us some wind as well..
I hope we never see another summer like last summer..
I lived in Gerroa during the last La Nina. There was still a good number of days with NEer but it wasn't as consistent and the normal NE followed by a Southerly change didn't happen too often. On the flip side there was a lot more swell compared to normal summers.
Just hope Broulee has the NE blowing this summer, wasn't able to get down there last Christmas Summer period due to the fires.
