To kick off January's summer of racing across NSW, Marmong Point Sailing Club are holding their annual Summer Regatta on Saturday 14th January.
As a separate event (not part of Four Seasons series) we will be running a marathon style race around Pulbah Island on Sunday 15th Jan. More details on the Marathon will be posted separately.
Registration is from 10-11am, with the earliest possible start at 12 noon.
Marmong Point is an easy drive under 2 hours from Sydney, and a BBQ will be held at the end of racing for all competitors and their families.
Results will count towards the overall 2011-2012 Four Seasons Series. Given that the spring regatta was cancelled due to the lack of wind, the series is wide open for anyone to win one of the great prizes.
All classses are welcome, so come along and get some racing practice in before Hawks Nest, or give racing a try for the first time if you're a newcomer.
See you Saturday!
Just a reminder about the regatta scheduled for tomorrow. Forecast is looking not too bad and pretty well suited to light wind Formula.
The best wind may be around the middle of the day so we will be trying hard to get the first start off right at 12 noon.
See you there.
A massive day of racing today, in consistently gusty and shifty conditions around 10-12 knots. Well done to race officer Neville for getting in 7 races during the day.
In free formula fleet, Glenn Rumford just came in ahead of Barry Fawkes, while in the open fleet visitor Chris W from Belgium had good consistent results and took the win from Byron McIlveen and Steve Walsh in third.
thanks to David Howe and Chris for making the trip up from Sydney, and we hope to see a few more people tomorrow for the Marathon at Belmont.
thanks James and the entire race crew at Marmong. a great day of racing in testy conditions indeed. sorry to miss today's marathon.
till next year!
