Looks like we are in for a "hot" weekend. Wind looks on the light side, but Jervis Bay always seems to have it's own weather system. See you down there....
Looking at the forecast at this early stage & it's not looking great, however it's worth noting(as BM also points out), that Jervis Bay can dish up some unusual weather when it's least expected. Worse cause scenario, the Raceboards will provide a some entertainment for us!
Provisional NSW Series results for the Formula fleet are looking very tight with only a few points separating the top veteran guys for podium spots. A couple of additional races will make for some interesting developments, that's for sure.
For those early risers and anyone driving down to the event tomorrow morning, dial your wireless to Simon Marnie's Saturday Breakfast radio program and have a listen to my interview with him about Windsurfing in NSW. It could be quite the laugh, but I'll do my best to talk us all up!
6:15 on ABC local radio, Sydney 702. www.abc.net.au/radio/sydney/programs/saturdaybreakfast/
Hey Justin,
If you're coming along, it might pay for you to bring your Raceboard and your Formula board, that way you will get some racing in no matter what the conditions are :)
Yes true
However its the state championship for formula and i am defending champ
After this regatta im back on rb. Had i found a 16mm tap and die i would have brought the current sail im working on. DP, true flow, red back sails didn't have the press and i got to Hoods after closing yesterday. Very close to finish this RB sail now.
Good turn out today between the 2 fleets. Just the 2 races today in pretty marginal NEster for the Formula guys. 3rd race cancelled in the dyeing wind unfortunately. Raceboards got 3 races in but in very testing conditions also. Not as hot as it was in Sydney but pretty steaming conditions still. Here are the provisional results from day one of the formula State titles. Fingers crossed for a possible southerly tomorrow.
10am briefing 2mrw. 11am first possible start ladies & gents. See u all there at the beach for a bit of southery action??
Awesome final days racing for the two fleets. 4 races for the Formula guys today in what was an awesome southerly that kicked nicely after 2pm. A very big thanks to Craig Ferris from Sailing Australia for running proceedings as RO for us this wk end; and on his own no less! Cheers to the Raceboard crew for slogging it out and leading the way with your sportsmanship, stamina & general friendly vibes.
Photos and video by Mari Barrios to come, which should be interesting! Thank you all for making the journey south and attending. And finally, a big congrates to our State champ winners. Well done boys, cheers for the season and am looking forward to next year.
The defense didn't go to well LOL
Congratulations to all the podium placegetters

Thanks to all competitors and those that assisted throughout; especially Mick & Geoff from Marmong, Mari Barrios for the photos and most recently, Craig Ferris from Australian Sailing.
A great season and looking forward to the next one, the shape of which may be a little different going forward. Just to inform everyone; I'm retiring from organisation duties and so a big thanks to all that have assisted over the years. It's been a very rewarding & interesting ride but the time has come to pass on the baton and make way for some new direction and energy.
Enjoy the off season and see you on the water
Though I haven't been involved in racing for much of the period, I still wish to say thanks Adam for your efforts in making sure there is an outlet to race with a bunch of like minded individuals who share a passion!
Thanks mate
Hi everyone, [first post]
Just wondering if anyone or club is formula windsurfing over winter. I'm a keen newbie and want to know some tips both on the water a off it. I'm based on the north side of the harbour so play around in there or at balmoral but willing to travel.
Thanks
I believe there is guys sailing from Balmoral Sailing Club...
